Roscoff, a historic port town on the north coast of Brittany, was a popular subject for French coastal and marine painters of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, prized for its distinctive granite architecture and working harbour life.

Collectors of French regional coastal painting and Breton harbour scenes will find this a well-preserved example, retaining its original period frame.
