K2 Exhibition James Hart Dyke

An exhibition of James Hart Dyke's paintings from the Karakoram Mountains

In July 2025, I went to the Karakoram Mountains in Pakistan with James Hart Dyke. We walked and climbed for 125 miles in the footsteps of the pioneering Italian photographer and climber Vittorio Sella (1859–1943), who took a series of remarkable pictures of the region when on an expedition to attempt climbing K2 in 1909. In so doing, James Hart Dyke became the first landscape artist to paint the world’s second highest mountain, K2.

This November, I will be holding an exhibition of Hart Dyke’s Karakoram paintings and drawings in St. James’s, and in December the pictures will then go on display alongside twenty photographs by Vittorio Sella at the Forte di Bard, The Museum of the Alps, in the Valle d’Aosta in Italy.
