Signed, this oil by Louis Durr (1896–1973) shows the Schreckhorn seen from the Bachalpsee, Bernese Oberland.

The Bachalpsee, a small mountain lake above Grindelwald, is one of the most photographed and painted viewpoints in the Bernese Oberland, prized for its reflections of the surrounding peaks including the Schreckhorn and Wetterhorn.

Collectors of twentieth-century Swiss Alpine painting and of Bachalpsee/Grindelwald views will find this a fine addition, sold in 2014 and now reappearing in the market record.
