Louis Camille Gianoli (1868-1957) was a Swiss landscape painter, born in Geneva, whose work focused on the mountain scenery of Valais and the wider Swiss Alps, alongside occasional views of Lake Geneva and, in later life, North African subjects. His known paintings depict specific, identifiable locations across the Val d'Hérens and the Dent Blanche region, rendered in a direct, representational manner characteristic of the wider tradition of Swiss Alpine landscape painting that flourished from the mid-nineteenth century onward. His brother, also a painter working under the Gianoli name, produced genre scenes and landscapes in a related vein.
